CV Presentation:
- Keep it concise and professional.
- ALWAYS stick to the facts.
- Have a short PROFILE at the beginning outlining yourself within 2 paragraphs
- Always include the following: (In this order)
- Personal Details
- Employment History
- Education & Qualifications
Preparation for Interviews:
- First Impressions count.
- Dress accordingly and corporately.
- DO NOT wear too much jewellery, avoid showing piercings and DO NOT reveal any tattoos.
- Strong eye contact, maintain this throughout the interview.
- Strong and firm handshake.
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early.
- Know the full title and name of the person your meeting with some research into them.
- You MUST research the company.
- Maintain good posture throughout the interview.
- Let the interviewer lead the meeting.
- Know YOUR OWN CV.
- Have clear examples ready for competency based questions
- Have examples of previous successes i.e. fee earning, how where you targeted?
- How where you performing to those targets?
Example questions to ask:
- Ask with regards to the structure of the team?
- What career progression is available?
- What is the company culture?
- What will they expect from you in the first 6 months?
- What are the companies aims and predictions for the next 6-12 months?
- What attracted them to the company?
- What are the KPI’s? (Key performance indicators)
- What training is available?
- What will the next stage be and when will you hear?
- Do they have any reservations, that you can answer there and then!
- Avoid questions with regards to salary at the first interview stage
